Hunting Methods

Primary hunting styles depend on the time of year and the animals being hunted. During the roar, Red Stag are stalked on foot. Wild Boar, Mouflon, Fallow and Stag can be stalked or hunted from a “high seat” or hunting blind and Chamois are stalked on foot in the mountains. Accommodation and Details

Accommodations are usually in the hunting lodge on the property being hunted. All meals and drinks are supplied and the food and service is exceptional. Each hunter has his own guide and an interpreter is along on every hunt to insure there are no problems with communication.

My Assessment

After hunting in Bulgaria, my assessment is that this country is a top notch choice for a European hunt. Animal numbers are very impressive to say the least, specifically the Stag, Fallow Deer and Wild Boar, in the areas I hunted, were quite numerous. The trophy quality of the game that I saw, very late in the season, I might add, was exceptional. The meals and were far above what I expected in both quality and amount of food served. The staff at each location were as good as you can expect on any hunt on any continent. (and that is saying a lot!) Anyone considering a European hunt, for the usual European species, or specifically, a hunt for Red Stag during the roar, this is definitely a country to consider.
